Tekna Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Tekna (the “Family Tree App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

How We Use Your Information

Data Storage & Security

Account and shared tree data are stored with Supabase using encrypted transit (TLS), encrypted storage at rest, and row-level security. Local preferences and cache live on your device. Signup confirmation and password-reset emails are sent through our authentication provider.

Access Control

New accounts require administrator approval before accessing family tree data. Administrators can enable/disable accounts, manage roles, review pending edits, and delete accounts when appropriate.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Data is shared only as needed to operate the app:

We do not use advertising networks or sell your data to analytics brokers.

Your Rights

Data Retention

We retain account information while your account is active. Local cache can be cleared from the Profile tab. Account deletion permanently removes your personal account data from our servers.

Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact the administrator if you believe a child has provided personal data so it can be removed.

Contact

Questions or data-rights requests can be sent through the in-app feedback form on the Profile tab.
